Jorge Piedra lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and Bruce Chen delivered 6
solid innings at Minute Maid Field as the Columbus Crowd beat the Chicago
Rastafarians by the count of 3 to 1.
Columbus won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning with 2 runs
using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, J.D. Drew was the sparkplug when he
laced a base-hit. Brad Wilkerson came to the plate and drew a walk. One out
later, Khalil Greene came up and he doubled plating two runs. Columbus had a
total of 10 hits for the game.
B.J. Ryan(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Ryan got
help from Akinori Otsuka who earned his 3rd save. Jesse Crain(0-1) was given
the loss in relief.
The Columbus ballclub's record now stands at 18-18. Chicago has a record of
21-15 after the loss.
